Biospecimen Technician
Keliomics is a seed-stage biopharma company with a proprietary, ex vivo human tissue platform. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon, approximately half a mile from the OHSU medical campus.
We are hiring technicians to help with an ongoing, IRB-approved research project. In this role, you will:
- Interface with academic and community surgeons whose patients donate discard tissues under an IRB-approved protocol
- Obtain informed consent from tissue donors
- Observe surgery cases, typically breast reductions, tummy tucks, and liposuction
- Transport tissues to our facility at 4640 South Macadam
- Each tissue donation (surgery) requires 4 hours of time. Surgeries often start at 7am, so technicians will need to arrive at the surgery center/hospital around 6:30am.
Key Requirements:
- Have completed at least 3 years in an accredited, four-year university
- Be available at least 2 weekdays a week between 6:30a and 4pm
- Have reliable transportation
- Be prompt
- Be reliable
- Have an interest in clinical medicine and surgery
Since 2014, we’ve worked with dozens of pre-med and medical students in this role. The experience has been uniformly positive.
